Focus on
The Cross
C. Hope
Flinchbaugh
Founder & Publisher - History Maker Publishing
http://www.historymakerpublishing.com |
| |
 |
|
Hope started her writing career as a freelance writer/journalist for
Christianity Today, Charisma, Focus on the Family,
Campus Life, and various other child, teen, and adult magazines. In
the last nine years, she authored four books with outstanding publishers
including Bethany House, Destiny Image, and Charisma House, while
contributing short stories or articles to other compilations.
Her most noted works are three novels based on true
testimonies of religious persecution and revival in China. Hope’s latest
novel,
I’ll Cross the River,
was released in English in May 2008 and released in Dutch and Korean in
2009. I’ll Cross the River is based on factual stories of starving
North Korean citizens who are desperately seeking food and freedom by
crossing the Tumen River to escape into China.
Hope's latest work is an adult picture book that gives
a stirring account of a child’s rescue story—a gripping story told in
pictures drawn by a child who endured starvation, arrest, and imprisonment
in North Korea. Out of North Korea, A Korean Boy Tells His Rescue Story
in Pictures, is the first in a series of books Hope intends to publish
from her upstart publishing company, History Maker Publishing.
When the eyes of God look down from
heaven on the evil and the good, will He find His writers near the cross?
Find out why a best-selling writer, the Apostle Paul, was resolved to be
known by nothing but Christ and His cross. Worship in prayer and song with
Hope at the foot of “The Old Rugged Cross” where the war of the ages was
fought to save us from sin and return us to our Father’s glory. And while
you are there, look around. Priceless friendships are fashioned at the
foot of the cross.

Liz is an award-winning author, performer, broadcaster, spiritual
director, and creative prayer consultant. She is author of ten nonfiction
books and four CDs including the award-winning Into God's Presence
(Zondervan 2005). Liz works as a missionary and wrote many of her books for the general market as well as the Christian market. To
further her outreach, Liz performs her written work in concert
with musicians, dancers, and other artists, and has performed at the
Edinburgh Fringe. Liz's new gift book, Celtic Treasure, published
last year in the UK and USA, has been written for the cross-over
market. Her prayer is that readers will uncover the reality of God
through their interest in Celtic spirituality.
As a missionary, Liz also advises the church on how to
engage with our spiritual culture and is seen as a key influencer in this
area. Her evangelistic ministry is authorized by the Anglican Church in
the UK.
Liz is a true Brit and loves tea and chocolate!
How do we “Write His Answer” when so many people
are indifferent to our message and when aggressive atheism is setting
itself up in opposition to Christianity? Liz is from Great Britain and has
a word from the Lord that American Christians need to hear.

New York Times’
bestselling author and international speaker Cecil (Cec) Murphey has written

The one thing we have to share with
others is our flawed, authentic selves. Too many hide behind an image of
spiritual victory. Cec points the way for us to honor God and to help
people by writing authentically.

In addition to his many books, Cecil has written hundreds of articles that
have appeared in a variety of publications. He stays busy as a professional
writer and travels extensively to speak on many topics such as writing,
recovery, spiritual growth, caregiving, significant living, male sexual
abuse, and more.
Rejected
manuscripts don’t have to close doors! Almost every writer gets
rejected—and some regularly. What does rejection really mean? Five things
you can learn from failure to move you toward publishing success and to
accept non-acceptances. |

|
|
Please Note:
As the Lord leads, some of the general
sessions will include Missions Moments addressing world needs and
issues.
There will be opportunities
to make freewill offerings to some of these, so come prepared for that
if you would like to participate by giving.
Any amount is most appreciated!
Marlene Bagnull's passion for Christ

For many conferees, it is a time of
