    Patricia Durgin
Director, The Tip Tracy Academy (tips to build your platform)
http://tiptracy.wordpress.com/

Patricia Durgin, aka Tip Tracy, is unusual. With no teaching degree, she has taught over 5,000 sessions in business, church, and community settings. She didn’t attend seminary yet she’s taught the Bible alongside a pastor. With only a high school diploma, she’s taught men and women with decades more education. Never trained to write professionally, Patricia has written training manuals for multiple businesses. From 1980 until 2009, without a counseling degree, she helped thousands of adults in and from abusive families move closer to Christ.
Only God could have given her these unlikely opportunities.
As a teenager, Patricia chased a young man named David without ceasing; they’ve enjoyed over 30 years of marriage. Even though she didn’t have a spiritually healthy childhood, she and her husband gifted their daughters with one. Patricia’s schooling was sporadic because her birth family moved often, yet she home-schooled both daughters till they attended college.
Only God could have given her these unexpected blessings.
Despite being reared without Him, Christ taught Patricia how to build a brand-new life, offering Himself as her holy foundation. (After all, He is the perfect teacher.) Patricia didn’t merit this life. In His kindness, God gave it to her. He made a way for your life to include blessings and opportunities, too, through a healthy relationship with Him.
She became involved in the Christian writing community in 2004, developing relationships with many Christian writers and speakers and serving as a faculty member at Christian writers conferences. Check out her
Endorsements page. Now, through her workshops and website, Patricia encourages you to take a chance on God…again. With common sense and a splash of humor, she reminds you that He is for you, you can obey Him, and He will make a way for you.
Patricia’s conference workshops are practical rather than theoretical. Each class has three points and is rich in details; no overviews here. Participants leave class with fresh ideas, tools and resources, excited to get to work.
So if you’re unusual, too—or just usual—consider one of Patricia’s workshops. Your spirit will be renewed, which always improves your writing.
Patricia and her husband David live near Atlanta. Sadly, their two daughters, both teachers married to pastors, live hours away.

Workshops  - Platform Brainstorming (4F) - Is it time to expand your platform? There are many possibilities - a website, blog, social media, joint ventures, and an online community - among others. This workshop helps you decide where to begin and when to add another. You can be more effective when you have a thriving platform.
Silver or Dross? (5A) - Are roadblocks keeping you from moving forward on your God-ordained project? Can you tell if your ideas are from God, yourself, a sincere-but-wrong-friend, or the enemy? Whatever your level of progress, this workshop shows you how to distinguish between these various idea sources. You can enjoy more peace and productivity when you discard the dross and keep the silver.

    Diana Flegal
Literary Agent
Hartline Literary Agency

www.hartlineliterary.com

Diana currently lives in Pittsburgh, PA, where she works as an agent for Hartline Literary Agency and as Editorial Assistant to Joyce Hart, owner and founder of Hartline. A Bible college major in Missions and Anthropology, Diana has been a medical missionary to Haiti, a women's speaker, and Bible study leader, creating her own women's study material. One of her life's highlights has been teaching apologetics to high school students as preparatory for college. She is an avid reader and gifted editor. Her plea long ago was, "Lord, couldn't I get a job that paid me to read?" Twenty-five years later she has that job.

Workshop - How to Write an Attention-Getting Proposal (2E) - You have written your book and are now ready to reach out to editors and agents. This workshop will teach the nuts and bolts of writing your proposal. What are the arts you need to lace in a proposal and in what order should they be presented? How do you space the different parts? Is it necessary to brag on yourself in the author bio? Should you let the agent or editor know you are an inexperienced, new author? We will address these questions and many others in this workshop. When we are through, you will know how to prepare each part and why they are a necessary addition to your inquiry to an agent or editor.

Editorial Needs - Diana's focus is nonfiction, but she entertains well-written fiction as well. She has a passion for getting great writers published, also venturing into the ABA market. She is NOT looking for memoirs or biblical historical fiction, children's books, poetry, or short stories. YA will be considered. All material must be written from a Christian Worldview but does not have to be overtly evangelical. She is open to good, clean, well-written material.

Continuing Session - Advanced Writers -
Enhancing Your Role as a Writer (Thursday am) - Growth as a writer must go beyond skills development. Without continued spiritual growth a writer becomes self-focused. We’ll look at resources available to develop the inner strength, orientation, and stamina to be an effective writer. But we’ll also look outward to the many opportunities to expand your role as a writer, most of which are overlooked by even dedicated writers. Les will not only draw on his own experience over 58 years as a writer but also those of associates throughout the years.
Writing Biblically for Life Impact
(Thursday pm) - When Jesus refused to speak to a crowd without telling a story (Matthew 13:34) He established the basis for all Christian communication, fiction or nonfiction. Why was this not recognized by Christian communicators until recently? What does it mean for writers in the 21st century? How do we implement Jesus' style of communication to grab the attention of the e-book reader, when the majority of e-book sales are fiction? How do we communicate basic gospel truths to a TV and movie-viewing population? How do we get beyond entertainment to life impact?
Navigating Book Collaboration and Today’s Contract Negotiation (Friday pm, Les) - Collaborating with one or more writers or tackling a ghostwriting assignment require navigating tricky rapids. We’ll look at the positives and the negatives, what leads to unhappy endings, and how to try to prevent them—all based on Les' numerous collaborations and ghostwriting assignments. Then we’ll do a quick trip through negotiating a contract with a publisher, seen from the perspective of one who has been on both sides of the table many times.

Represents
adult fiction, nonfiction, and crossover books.

    Jerry Thompson
Website Designer
http://www.cauthors.com

Jerry has been repairing computers, hosting, and designing websites since 2002. He is also a Technology teacher and the Director of Technology for Lima Christian School. He and his wife have been married since 1987 and have two grown children.
Jerry has seen a lot of websites and many were poorly designed. He observed that most websites became stagnant because the owner either did not know how to change the content of the website or they could not afford to pay someone else. He searched and experimented and tried just about every website system available. Then he found one that was powerful, professional looking, and easy to use.
In November 2009, God inspired Jerry to write a spiritual thriller even though he never wanted to be a writer. There was a question that haunted him; why did God have me write this book? He plunged into the world of the printed word. He read a book on writing, joined a critique group, and learned how to publish a book. The critique group told him about GPCWC. He came to the conference in August 2010 to learn about the publishing world, get feedback on his book, and hoped God would answer his question. God did answer, but not in the way he expected.
At the GPCWC he noticed little instruction on website design. Here was a group of people needing websites that he would never have met if it weren’t for the book. He went home and designed a system to help Christian writers with an affordable and easy to use website. He is eager to share what he has learned.

Earlybird Website Clinic Wednesday, 1:30 - 3:45. You need a website to promote your book(s) and a blog so your voice can be heard. Yet you’re afraid of the cost and the unknowns of creating a website. There are too many choices.

If you commit to this process, by the end of the conference you will have website and blog designed by you and for you which can be edited as often as desired. And you’ll have tutorials and other resources available as you move forward.
Cost, in addition to the $40 clinic fee, is $21 for a domain name (if you do not already have one) and $37 - $83 for a year of hosting. Click here for additional info. Note: This clinic is limited to the first 12 people who want to go home with a new website.
