Writer’s block can be one of the most intimidating aspects of working on a writing project. In interactive exercises, learn techniques to unleash the creative writer within you.
 
3A - Called to Write - Tracey Michae'l Lewis
Many people know God has given them a vision to write a book or to be a writer, but they don’t know what that entails. This workshop will help you understand the call of a writer and the connection between your ability to hear God and your ability to write for God.
 
4A - Tickling Ears or Tackling Fears? - Becky Spencer
Many people are abandoning their faith and following deceptive teachings. Our challenge is to artfully craft the message of truth from God’s Word without compromising, praying seekers will consider it, but being willing to accept rejection if they don’t.
 
5A - Organize and Write! - Cheryl Carter
Achieve your goal of being the productive writer you always wanted to be. Participants will learn practical and proven techniques and strategies to reach their writing goals. Nonfiction and fiction writers are welcome.
6A - The Role of Devotions in Writing
If you want to reach the spirit of your readers, you must write with a fresh anointing. Discover the need, discipline, and practical tips including a program for quiet time with God that will revolutionize your writing.

1B - I Got a Bite! - Susan May Warren
In today’s competitive book market, a writer needs to capture readers in the first paragraph, if not the first line. How to use Theme, 5 Ws, Voice, Actions, Stakes, and Story Question to create a hook that will catch your reader and won’t let go.
 
2B - Putting Words in Their Mouths - Tim Shoemaker “Talk may be cheap,” but poor dialogue will cost you. The words you put in the mouths of your fiction characters are critical. Discover how you can “heave-ho” your “ho-hum” dialogue.
 
3B - Redemptive Writing at Home in Any Market - Jonathan Friesen
What makes a manuscript redemptive? Is that different than an overtly Christian novel? Discover the universal appeal of redemptive stories and their unique ability to communicate the gospel.
 
4B - Plotting for the Heart, Soul, and Mind - Susan May Warren

Any manuscript must pass a rigid self-editing process. We’ll take a long look in the mirror while we search for the hidden foibles in our manuscripts. Learn editing for story, plot, consistency, and grammar.

Do you want to write fantasy? If so, do you know which type? We’ll look at the different kinds of fantasy for every age group. Pam will talk about The Hero’s Journey and give some writing exercises to get your imagination going.
 
3C - CIA 101: Investigative Techniques from the Trenches - Jeanette Windle
Learn the investigative techniques political/suspense novelist Jeanette Windle uses to create fiction realistic enough for government agencies to question whether she obtained classified information.
 
4C - More Than a Story - Joyce Moccero
