He spent eighteen years as an acquiring editor at Zondervan, most of that time as Executive Editor for fiction, and more recently, three years as senior fiction editor at Howard Books, a division of Simon & Schuster. He currently heads Lambert Editorial Services and is Editorial Director for Somersault, a new publishing services bureau.

The changes in the world of publishing are coming too quickly now to keep track of: ebook publishing, the crash in retail sales and the continuing closings of many bookstores, the increasing emphasis at publishers on best-sellers (and best-selling authors) only, the growing ability of both new and previously published authors to bypass publishers and take their books straight to market, the explosion in digital technology, the explosion of social media—and now Apple has released an app to make self-publishing easy! Where is your place in this brave new publishing world? Discuss it with a publishing professional whose tenure in publishing began when every editor had not a PC but an IBM Selectric (that's a typewriter) on his desk--and who sees these changes as, for writers, more opportunity than crisis. Will include input from visiting agents and editors.

How I love the Colorado Christian Writer's Conference.

Though I've taught at the conference for over a decade, I'm still one of its earnest students. Every year I take home loads of inspiration, encouragement, and instruction. If it weren't for what I've learned at CCWC, I would not be the author of over a dozen books today. I hope to be involved for at least another decade  because I've got more to learn - and write!
