New!
Sandra Bishop
Literary Agent
MacGregor Literary Agency
www.macgregorliterary.com
Coming for the
entire conference and available for appointments. See her bio at
http://macgregorliterary.com/about/sandra.php. Sandra is looking for:
FICTION - Contemporary and historical;
especially women's. Looking specifically for the following at this time:
region-specific historicals (preferably with a contemporary
connection); humor; romance; stories which challenge "American"
Christianity yet affirm authentic, traditional Christian faith.
NON-FICTION -
Christian living subjects from authors with strong platform. How-To's
(Christian living and otherwise) written in an entertaining manner which
deliver easy to identify take-away for readers. Especially interested in
looking at projects which explore social justice; environmentalism;
consumerism and racism.
YA - Very
selective. Fiction must appeal to both adults and older teens; be
imaginative and exceptionally well written. Prefer YA Non-Fiction that
addresses contemporary issues in a fresh voice and helps young adults
authenticate their faith and make decisions about their lifestyle choices.
TIPS - Open to
meeting with unpublished authors who have well thought out projects and
organized proposals (table of contents is very helpful) and a well
crafted, succinct synopsis. No short stories, children's books, science
fiction, derivatives, end-times material or biblical (historical) fiction.

Teens
Write!
Editorial
Needs - For curriculum we
are seeking writers who are able to write well within an established
format and template. Our curriculum writers must be able to create
teaching activities that clearly communicate the emphasis of the
lesson. They must be able to create complete lessons that are cohesive
and guide students through the learning process in a creative and
effective manner. They should be familiar with teens and teen culture;
a background in some kind of youth work is beneficial. To be
considered, writers should submit a sample of their lesson writing or
devotional to
sdwilson@wordaction.com.
Barefoot is open
to book proposals; our books are written for teenagers only, and our
passion is spiritual formation. Some examples of what we publish are an
Ancient Faith series, dealing with
"lectio
divina,"
ancient faith practices, and teen versions of Christian classics.
We also publish the Undercurrent Series, which deal with teen holiness,
evangelism, and social justice. We don't publish fiction.
NOTE:
Stephanie is also representing Credo magazine (check out their
editorial needs at the periodical
editors page) and Barefoot Ministries books (go to
Book Editors). |
